Infection Control
Infection control has always been a high priority for our practice. With the discovery of the AIDS virus (HIV) and the continuing problem with the Hepatitis B virus, it has become necessary for us to constantly upgrade techniques as well as sterilization and disinfecting products to provide you with maximum protection. We are very proud of our new building design, which provides you with state-of the-art infection control. All cabinetry, flooring and walls are chemically resistant to facilitate their disinfection.

Examples of procedures we perform for your protection are as follows:
  • All treatment surfaces, i.e., counter tops, chair surfaces, lights, x-ray machines, trays, etc., are disinfected with the safest and most effective products available, before and after each patient appointment.
  • All hand pieces, syringes, scalers, curettes and other instruments are sterilized by either chemical, autoclave or chemclave techniques before being used with any patient.
  • Our autoclaves and chemclaves are monitored regularly to insure their effectiveness and safety.
  • Staff members use gloves and masks for each patient.
  • All staff members are trained in proper infection control and asepsis and have been vaccinated against the Hepatitis B virus.
  • Our medical wastes are properly removed by a waste disposal company to further protect the public.
  • We send all members to our staff (15 members) to 8 hours of continuing education, specifically on infection control.
Our staff, as always, is committed to excellence in providing optimum dental care, and by protecting you from becoming infected by any bacterial or viral organism while you are in our office. We remain updated at all times regarding the rules and regulations directed to us by the CDC (Center for Disease Control) and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration). For your protection, we have gone beyond the requirements of OSHA and CDC. We want you to be well informed regarding procedures performed in our office and welcome any questions you may have. We remain committed to maintaining a relationship of sincere trust and loving care.
